Canada; Strong and Free?

There was a time that Canada was a model Western state, indeed, Comedian and actor Peter Ustinov once described Toronto as "New York, run by the Swiss". It was a beautiful, rugged country of jagged mountains, sweeping rivers, towering snow dusted pines and majestic golden prairies rolling towards the horizon. Its people were (and for the most part still are) charming, well mannered, hard working, family orientated and God fearing. They also didn't hesitate to defend liberty and freedom wherever and whenever it was threatened, and Canadian soldiers fought across the globe to advance and defend liberty.
However, the leftist social assault that has been waging since the 1960's in all Western states has taken a particularly heavy toll on Canada. One could argue the toll taken is on a par with the leftist moral ruins that we see in Scandinavia or the Netherlands, and many commentators would agree that Canada is the most left wing politically correct nation outside of Europe. Even many liberal American states look right wing in comparison to Canada. It's successive governments have all had very strong socialist tendencies, stifling the free enterpise that made the dominion great. Leftists in Canada have done what leftists everywhere in the West are doing; they dismantle the things that make a society stable and successful, introduce radical and sometimes bizarre social reforms to mould a society in their image, then stifle any criticism of their plans from anyone brave enough to object. Indeed, Canada's government proposed introducing Bill C-36, giving the government broad ranging powers to shut down internet material that "offended" someone.
Canada's leftists began by dismantling the church, and this project is now in its final stages. Recently, the formerly Christian nation of Canada passed a law criminalising the publication of bible passages that criticise homosexuality. Similar laws have followed in its wake, banning even possessing a bible in certain locations such as schools and even hospitals, arguably where they are needed most. In this respect, Canada has most highly unfortunate honour of being the first Western society since the days of the Roman Empire to criminalise an aspect of the Christian religion, a chilling precedent if ever there was one. Whilst Canada may not hurl Christians to the lions, it doesn't hesistate to threaten them with imprisonment and fines if they quote their religious book. Roman tyrant Nero would be proud of Canada's current regime. The Canadian soldiers who died on the beaches of Normandy, clutching a cross round their neck and whispering bible passages as they died must be rolling in their graves.
Canada has also become a soft touch for vicious criminals. There was a time Canada had a remarkably low crime rate, and even more remarkably low violent crime rate. This was the case because of a society that instilled discipline and respect for others, and had firm punishments for those who did transgress. However, thanks to far left social engineering, criminals are now the boss. Leftists in Canada abolished the death penalty, and instituted other waterring down exercises of its justice system. The once highly effective police were also immasculated by constant PC brain washing and schemes to make them more "sensitive", and were demoralised by soaring crime rates that they knew their justice system would not prosecute fully. Many parts of Toronto and Montreal, once safe and clean, have now been over taken by criminal gangs and transformed into urban battle zones. Just to round it all off, the leftists constantly attempt to introduce gun control, presumably to protect rapists and home invaders from their victims.
Mass immigration has also taken a devastating toll on Canada. In 1945, Canada had a culture and population that was unified. By the turn of the C21st, Canada's population had been dramatically altered by mass immigration, much of it from poor third world nations have transformed Canada from a culturally unified state to an increasingly balkanised multi-cultural tinder box. The Canadian immigration system has a "points" system, aimed at making sure immigrants are highly skilled. The Canadian immigration system has in reality ended up penalising skilled workers from the Western world by setting very high, almost un attainable minimum entry scores, whilst simultaneously lowering the bar for low skilled Third world immigration. It is also strongly suspected many immigrants are Al-Qaeda sleeper cells or Chinese Communist spies.
This has had the side effect of igniting racial tensions, but Canada's regime, paralysed by political correctness, does not do anything to address the situation. On the contrary, it concludes that Canada's people must be evil right wingers who need disiciplining and controlling lest they become more fascist than they already must be. The leftist group Anti-Racist Action has grown up as a self appointed watch dog in this respect. In reality, ARA is a group of vicious thugs, who openly boast with quite startling candour about the lengths which they are prepared to go to step on anyone who disagrees with their narrow ideology. Its also worth pointing out that Canada's people are anything but racist, and have, as a I mentioned earlier a long track record of fighting extremism and fascism, both at home and abroad. In one of the more despicable moments, it was alleged that ARA hurled abuse at a World War II veteran worried about Canada as he attempted to speak out in a public forum. He survived World War II to see what that country would become; maybe the guy who died whispering a banned bible verse was the lucky one.
Canada also has some bizarre leftists in academia; for example, Prof. Foster Griezic of Carleton University, Ottowa claimed that Pearl Harbour was an act of American aggression! He makes this claim based on the fact the US sank a Japanese midget submarine just before the attack began. As it happened, the US, at the time a neutral country, had every right to defend itself from a surprise attack which it had just that moment realised was upon it. He doesn't explain why over 300 Japanese attack planes just happened to be in the area at the time. In a similarly bewildering comment, Liberal MP Bonnie Brown compared the US attack on Iraq to Pearl Harbour (whatever you think of the Iraq war, the US did give the Iraqi regime plenty of warning an attack was coming, considerably more of a warning than the Japanese gave).
But she is by no means the most strident left winger in Canada's parliament. Svend Robinson of the NPD has jetted around the world pledging his support for the Islamic terorrists of the PLA, (who by the way, would execute him under Sharia law, as he is a practising homosexual) and stomped around an anti-captialist protest in Quebec City, where he claimed the Canadian police "damaged his pants" (whatever that means, and to be quite frank I'm not sure I want to know). Indeed, even fellow NDP-er Bob Rae, former Premier of Ontario, has called Robinson a "histrionic crank." (Source: National Post).
All in all, Canada is in dire straights. Like the rest of the West it is in the vice like grip of a tiny, but aggressive and fanatical leftist elite. There dismantling of Canada is advanced, but not irreversible. What is needed is for Canadian patriots and God fearing individuals to stop grinning and bearing it, and stand up and be counted. The Canadians are a strong bunch; they carved one of the finest cultures on earth from the wilderness of the tundra, and fought in Flanders fields. They braved the U-Boat horrors as Canadian sailors kept the UK afloat in its darkest hours of 1940, supplying the starving nation with its back to the wall with Canadian grain. There are still some Canadians left who have not been hypnotised by the leftist brain washing. These patriotic men and women will launch the fight back in Canada. Then, as the fight back begins, it wont be long before their proud land is exorcised of the demons of leftist. And it is then that Canada shall be the True North; both truly strong and truly free.
